Community Service Has Always Been a Core Value of the American Legion. IT...


Has 130 active members who served our country in wars since WWII-many with purple hearts, distinguished service honors and war campaign medals.


• Has a 100 year history of supporting the Madison Community to include Ambulance Service, Boys and Girls State, American Legion and Little League Baseball, Boy and Cub
Scouts, Madison Food Pantry, various community fund raisers and much more.

• Established Honor Guard for funerals of military veterans in 2003. Primary Guard for regional funerals and Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown. Guard averages 340 funerals a year.

• Provides a meeting hall with full-service kitchen for special family occasions and celebrations.

• Is organizing Memorial Day ceremonies at the War Memorial on the Green, at West Cemetery and The Wharf this year without a parade due to Covid.
